Spindle Introducing...?

After the success of the first Spindle Introducing...? - which featured live music from The Palpitations, Ursa Minor (Little Bear) and Man Without Country and also featured live art from the talented Billy Mather AND live body painting from In Your Dreams - we're back with another night at 93 Feet East!

Thursday 8th September sees Air Castles, Athletes In Paris and One Sixth Of Tommy play live, with more live artists and surprises to be announced!

Always Uncommon Mothers

This Sunday is Mother's Day. Don't panic, as there's a little something going on in Brighton that you can treat your mother to. Art, design, fashion, cupcakes AND free tea! It's on at the Green Door Store near the station 12pm-5pm. I'll be there with some new prints and goodies, and a special one-day-only discount on some of my prints you may have seen online.

The Emerging Talent Exhibition

More new news, this time in the form of an exhibition.

Spindle Magazine are proudly presenting some of the fantastic artists, designers, photographers and illustrators that have contributed to the magazine in their first exhibition held at Madame Geisha in Brighton. It launches with a private view on Friday 4th March.

Don't Panic in the Dark

Don't Panic have asked me to design one of their display boxes. As it's going to be displayed in a bar (location TBC) that goes from light to dark, I thought I would play on that and experiment with a bit of glow in the dark paint. This is the result... Keep your eyes peeled for the reveal of the final location!

Non-linear Exercises, Puzzles & Drawings

I went to the final show at the RCA a few weeks ago and picked up this little gem; a puzzle book with a sense of humour, created by Nazareno Crea and Molly Kyhl.

"AHA is a collection of games, exercises and illustrations that follows a non-linear logic. We aim to encourage independent thoughts and solutions... We treat facts as highly flexible."

Spindle has landed. It's official.

It's officially here! After a fabulous launch party Spindle is on it's way round Brighton and London. A full list of stockists will be published soon, but in the meantime you can get an idea of what's going on from these photos of the launch.

Cut-Click Mail Art On Tour.

The Cut-Click Mail Art Exhibition has gone on tour! It will be on display at the Creative Fair: Big Top Jamboree, this coming May 17th at Drouthy’s Basement, Perth Road, Dundee.

My entry into the Cut-Click Mail Art Exhibition. The Envelope becomes the art itself. I can't wait to see it stamped by Royal Mail! I wonder what they'll make of it?

E17 Art Trail

I caught up with a couple of of friends of mine this weekend to see what they had been up to. It would appear quite a lot! As part of the annual E17 Art Trail held in and around London's Walthamstow they have built this fantastic installation in their back garden.

Sonya Sabbagh, a print maker/artist and Jade Myrie, who studies carpentry, have created a collaborative sculpture installation made from wood collected around the Walthamstow area, which also incorporates etchings and works on paper. It will be interesting to see how the installation evolves as it weathers the elements and becomes part of the surroundings in which it is built. Not to mention how the snails continue to take to it...
